When the door is shut, work ensues. But what happens during the process of creating, making, and doing in a studio, in one’s mind? What moves someone to dedicate their time to the creative process? And what does this look like?

 

Open Door Conversations was born as a means to explore these questions and examine the connection between art and discipline, development and enjoyment. Our new series focuses on conversations with artists and makers working and living in Maastricht. We’ve asked them to open their doors to us and they invited us into their studios, their homes, their creative spaces – anywhere they feel comfortable doing their work. We learn about what moves them to make, create, and do what they do, day after day.
